Question : Problem: Hard Drive failed (windows) trying to recover it in linux.
Hi,
One of hard drives failed in my laoptop. It no longer loads up windows and displayes an error disk message. I would like to try and recover some of the files in the old hard drive and I would like to accomplish this by booting the laptop with an ubuntu disk and mount the old hard drive. Then I can I will insert a usb stick and transfer files from the old hard drive to the usb stick. What do you guys think? Does this make sense.

It's worth a try also you can remove the drive and connect to another system either and an interanl slave drive or externally using a usb adapter.
