Question : Problem: Can you put 2 PCI Express x1 x16 video cards in one machine

I have a Dell e510 machine and it has two PCI express slots, one x1 and another x16. I would like to put in another video card in the x1 slot so that I can have a multiscreen setup. Has anybody tried this? Will this work?

This will not work because both video cards cannot be running simotaniously, which makes getting a second video card useless. The only way you can run 2 video cards at the same time is SLI mode or CrossFire. Which is 2 identical video cards both PCI-E x16 with a bridge connector. If you want Dual monitors buy a new video card PCI-E x16. If you don't want to spend a lot of money I would go with Nvidia GeForce 6600 its about $160.00 CND.
