Question : Problem: Array microphone incompatible with sound card?
Recently I switched from a SoundBlaster Audigy 4 sound card to an HTO Claro Plus+.
The SoundMAX Superbeam array microphone packaged with my ASUS P5B-E motherboard doesn't register sound anymore (when plugged into the Claro's mic input jack).
I have ensured the mic input settings on all device software including the control panel have been unmuted and turned up.
I shouldn't need drivers or software for the mic itself, right? Is it something to do with my card's drivers? How can I fix this? Thanks for your time.
Answer : Problem: Array microphone incompatible with sound card?
Well, I installed the missing drivers for my motherboard's HD audio bus, so my mic works with that... apparently I need a specialized mic jack for an array microphone that the HTO card doesn't have.
