Question : Problem: Backup Exec error

Using Backup Exec 10d on Server 2003 with a TB HD.
Trying to backup 300 MB of data.
Of 1 TB, 617 GB is availlable.
The job fails and I'm told to look at the log file... of course I have no clue where it is.
But, under reports it states that I need 323,587MB 325MB is "Online" and 1,178 is "Media Total"
Any idea why 617GB isn't enough space to backup 325MB?  Is this simply Symantec math?

Answer : Problem: Backup Exec error

Are you by any chance running a TEST RUN of a job???

just run the job and it should finish fine.

Am sure you have successfully created a Backup to Disk folder to target the job at.

If you are running a test run (not much information in yr problem description) refer to the following for more information on why the job is failing

"Job failed running its test run. See log file for details" (a0008703 HEX or e0008703 HEX) No devices found to run job is reported when running a "Test Run"

Reason 2:  The backup device specified in the backup job is a "backup-to-disk-folder" or "backup-to-disk device" that has not been written to before.
Solution:   Create and run a backup job that backs up at least one file and targets the "backup-to-disk-folder" or "backup-to-disk device".  This will initialize the "backup-to-disk-folder" or "backup-to-disk device" allowing the Test Run job to perform a "media check".
