Question : Problem: Fiber Cable  vs  Cat 5 or 6 Cable

Hi,

1. There are a Power Failure in a certain part of a city
2. Most companies are affected
3. A company mostly used FIBER CABLE from a Core switch to other switches
4. I saw in other company that they used the CAT 5 or CAT 6 to connect from a Core Switch to other switches, and they are very STABLE (after the power failure)
5. Related to # 3 above: i) I saw (after the "power failure"), the switch which collected a group of network ports (in a certain area) ARE NOT STABLE. All the connection at that area are IN an OUT (5 minutes OK and another 5 minutes NOT OK) (This switch is connected to the Core Switch with fiber cable)
6. My question: Is it TRUE that the CAT 5 or 6 is much more STABLE than fiber cable after the Power Failure.
7. Thanks

Tjie
