Question : Problem: Symantec Backup Exec 10d for Windows Servers on Windows XP
|
|
Bought a new tapestreamer for a workstation and according to the provider the server edition of Backup Exec should run just fine on Windows XP with a small registry change.
Did the registry change and started installation only to run into an error message stating "1: 2755 2: 1601 3: C:\Documents and Settings\wcoulsto\My Documents\Software\BackupExec 10\Server\WINNT\INSTALL\BE\VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows.msi"
According to the Veritas knowledge base I need to copy the installation files to the harddrive and log on locally (http://support.veritas.com/docs/275582). I copied the files and the workstation is not a domain member so it's always log'ed on locally, but the same error is still there.
Anyone got this working? Any suggestions to a solution?
Thanks, Rayner
