Question : Problem: VTP- VLAN
|
|
I have 30 switch (2950, 2960G,3750) and backbone 4600 series. I wish to create VLAN through VTP what will be the best design and what will be the command I will use to accomplish this configuration. keep in mind some switch did not accept (#vtp mode client) it only have (#vtp file) and how can I make inter connection between the established vlans also with other on the remote network
Thanks

1. Client switches have to be in vtp mode client no matter what. "vtp file" command will just rename VTP database file. I think you need to enter VLAN configuration mode first and then enter "vtp client" command.
2. VLAN is L2 network, so if you can create a L2 bridge to your remote network it shouldn't be a problem. If it's point to point connection, most likely it's not an option and you will need to deal with L3 IP networks.
