Question : Problem: Backup Exec 9.1 connecting to SQL database

Hi,

I'm trying to install another server with Backup Exec he should connect to primary server. When i was installing the BE I've entered the name of the server where is primary server everything seems to be ok. Now when I try to start services I get an error in event log number 33152:

Adamm Database Error: Driver Connect Failure!
Error = ERROR_DATABASE_DOES_NOT_EXIST
Server = "MYSERVER"
Active Node = ""
Instance = "BkupExec"
Database = "BEDB"

I have SQL instance in MYSERVER named "local" and I think this is the problem. Can you give me any clues how to make it connect to the database? In the Backup Exec installation program I can only enter server name and not the instance name. I also found in the documents that there is no option in the 9.1 version to change database server this option if from 10.0 an above.

OK, if you don't have a BKUPEXEC instance on MYSERVER, then that's the problem.
Is the bedb database installed in the default instance (local)?

I can't remember if it used to be possible to change the name of the instance you connect to in BE 9.1
