Question : Problem: Dell Latitute L400 won't boot from Hard Drive
The computer won't boot unless you press the F12 key and select boot from hard drive. I tried to reset the boot order in the BIOS to hard drive first but it is grayed out and it is simply skipped over. It will boot if I plug in the CD-ROM (It doesn't have an built-in CD-ROM) because it can find the first boot device. How can I set the BIOS to boot from the hard drive first? It just all of a sudden started this.

reset the bios : -default settings are in the bios, nothing else needed -reset bios : no floppy needed; check your motherboard manual for the correct procedure - in most cases, removing the battery for 30 sec will do it -bios flash : check your motherboard manual for the correct procedure -check the bios battery, should read 3 V, or replace it
