Question : Problem: Scandisk problem

After yesterday when I booting my computer in DOS mode like usual,It come out"one or more....disk drive may produce bad sectors...press any key to run scandisk"(I dont very remember the whole words)
And after pressing key the scandisk began,it run surface test and some of my clusters are in bad.(I don't run it and cancelled it due to long time scan)
1.Why the scandisk requestment came out?
2.After I cancelled the scan,it says my dick have physical damage and i have to run scandisk daily and backup my data.Why?

Please help!

Hello Yong,
Not sure where your going with this question.  Your original problem was bad sectors on your harddrive. We have all given you excellent suggestions and was to fix the problem.  Now your questioning the best approach to backup MP3s.  The best way to backup mp3's is to burn them to cd.  Get your harddrive problem repaired as sugested above and then stablize your system.  When dealing with backups, it really boils down to the volume of data your looking at.  MP3's are best backed up to CD. That way they are portable.
