Question : Problem: Anti-shock software to pause hard disk on MacBook when it gets bumped around?

On my IBM/Lenovo laptop, it has a feature built into it that spins down the hard disk if it gets bumped around. The idea is that it prevents bumps, shocks, and drops from damaging the hard disk.

Does something like this exist for my Apple MacBook?

Answer : Problem: Anti-shock software to pause hard disk on MacBook when it gets bumped around?

Yes. The MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air all have something called Sudden Motion Sensor.

You can read more about this here:

I hope this answers your question. Good luck.
