Question : Problem: Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery doesn't backup when destination drive is changed to another disk
Using Windows 2003 Server and Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery
Have stup a base and incremental job.
On mondays it takes a base backup and all other days it takes an incremental backup. The destination is an USB disk connected to a network/usb link.
It works fine as long as we dont change the disk on a wrong date. If we change the disk on a wednesday for example it cannot do the incremental backup since the base image is stored on a disk that is no longer present. That makes good sense.
My question is: Is it possible to have BESR to take a new base image whenever the base image is not availabele?
Answer : Problem: Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery doesn't backup when destination drive is changed to another disk
No. The base must be in the same location if you are making an incremental job.
