Question : Problem: XFX Nforce Motherboard onboard audio header.

Am building new Desktop w/XFX NFORCE 680i mobo.  It has RealTek HD audio built-in.
Have a Sony DVD/CD burner with digital (2 pin) as well as analog (4 pin) outs on it.  Mobo manual is incomplete or I can't find where to connect the DVD to the mobo.   To complicate matters, neither mobo nor DVD came with a cable for DVD to mobo connection!  My question is - Where do I connect the DVD/CD on the mobo?

Answer : Problem: XFX Nforce Motherboard onboard audio header.

You do not need to connect optical drives to motherboards or sound cards via audio cables anymore.  In the early days, this was necessary, but all audio is transferred via the IDE or SATA cable interface now.  You will be able to play DVDs or CDs fine and experience the full audio playback.
