Question : Problem: How do I connect the audio out to my receiver?

I have a Creative Audigy sound card, model SB 0090 in a PCI slot in my computer.   I want to connect it to my receiver.   There is a 3.5mm connector on the sound card marked "digital out".   I would like to connect this to the digital optical input of my receiver.   Can I use a Toslink to mini plug cable to do this or is there a better way?   Do I need additional drivers to do this?
