Question : Problem: Delayed lag in gaming (not fps); event viewer id 45062

All of a sudden, I tried to play a game, and there's noticeable lag between my mouse movements and when the movement is displayed on the screen. Here's the error in the event viewer:

Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      ati2mtag
Event Category:      CRT
Event ID:      45062
Date:            7/8/2008
Time:            11:14:48 AM
User:            N/A
Computer:
Description:
CRT invalid display type
Data:
0000: 00 00 00 00 01 00 5a 00   ......Z.
0008: 2c 00 00 00 06 b0 00 c0   ,....°.À
0010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00   ........
0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00   ........
0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00   ........

I've tried uninstalling the current drivers and installing the newest version from ATI. That was unsuccessful, so I uninstalled them and tried the Omega drivers. The result was still the same.

I'm sure a reformat will resolve the issue, but I'm hoping it doesn't have to go that far. I've even tried different monitors to see if they are detected, without success. Please post any suggestions, as I'm now completely out of ideas.

Answer : Problem: Delayed lag in gaming (not fps); event viewer id 45062

I tried reinstalling the game, as well as trying other games (Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4), all had the same issue.

I ended up doing a format/reload after backing up my data, as there appears to be no obvious fix. This resolved the issue, so I believe it's either mouse-driver or video driver related. Thanks for all of your help, though.
