Question : Problem: ThinkPad T40 not recognizing power adapter
I have a ThinkPad T40 notebook that will not not recognize the power adapter. I tried another known good power adapter and the same thing happens. I jiggled the power plug that connects to the T40 and no luck. I tested the voltage on the motherboard connector and I'm getting +16V. So I know the motherboard at the connector is getting voltage. I read a few posts on the Lenovo forum regarding a similar issue and they mentioned could be a blown fuse. I can check the fuse, but I don't know where to look. If anyone can help me find the fuse or provide any other suggestions I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks.
Answer : Problem: ThinkPad T40 not recognizing power adapter
I ended up buying a replacement motherboard from eBay. I installed the motherboard and now it's working fine.
