Question : Problem: Display Problems on LCD tv

I have a laptop with a NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M video card. I want to hook this up to my LCD tv which is a 32". I have an HDMI to HDMI cable. I can see the display on the TV OK however, it appears to be zoomed in. I cannot seem to fix it so that the screen resolution shows the full desktop. Any assistance with this would be really helpful to me.

Answer : Problem: Display Problems on LCD tv

That has nothing to do with it... the laptop screen res is inconsequential in the display on the TV as this is processed directly by the GPU

When connecting VIA HDMI to an LCD Panel you need to ensure that the Screen is set up as either;

1. Extended Desktop
2. Display on TV only

Reason being is because when you are running cloned display (both images on the screen's are the same) you cannot setup different resolutions on both monitors. I would suggest to set the External monitor/TV to the ONLY display device and ensure that you set the resolution to the Native resolution of the TV (this can be found in your user manual)
