Question : Problem: Vista computer crashes netgear 614 router

I have a network with a netgear 614 wifi router.  I have 2 xp computers and one vista.  I have narrowed it down to when the vista is connected to the router the router crashes.  If the vista is not connected and the router is recycled the 2 xp computers work fine (the router does not crash)  I read somewhere that I should disable the SPI firewall.  I did that and the vista computer still crashes the router.  Can someone help?

I've got a Netgear 614 and a Vista Basic laptop connected wirelessly, mine works without any issues or the need to disable the firewall. What version 614 have you got? Mines a v4, but I also had a v6 for a while which also worked without issue. Maybe there's something failing in your router. Have you tried speaking with Netgear support? Also check to see if you've got the latest firmware for your router.
