Question : Problem: USB device not recognized - unknow device
I bought a logitech LX7 wireless mouse. When I plug it in my USB ports get messed up after a while and some times immediately. The error message is USB device not recognized and unknown device in device manager. I have external hard drives and a usb hub that have worked perfectly and still do until I plug in the mouse and then everything doesn't work. I have followed other solutions that solve the problem for my other devices but when I try to plug in the mouse, everything gets messed up again.

here some things to try : unplug pc from power for 30 minutes then test ----------------------- See if the following registry key exists HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_0000&Pid_0000 delete the Vid_0000&Pid_0000 key reconnect the suspect device refresh (f5) if this key reappears then the device is U/S ---------------------- copy the USBSTOR.SYS from a working PC to the bad one. (copy the old one somewhere else first) normally located at c:\windows\system32\drivers
