I have a new 147Gb Fujistu SCSI hard drive that i want to add on a Dell PowerEdge 1600Sc. I have connected it but can not see it when the server boots. What configurations are needed?

Answer : Problem: installing a Fujitsu SCSI disk on a Dell PowerEdge 1600Sc

I just looked up some docs on the PE1600SC and realized this is likely a front-loading hot swap disk, 80 pin. If that's the case, then it is going to be on the same RAID controller that you have the other drives on. If *that* is the case, then you need to go into the RAID controller's configuration menu and configure a RAID 0 on that one drive. This is how you get a single drive to act independently on a RAID controller.
