Question : Problem: Getting Sound to Work via RDP to Terminal Server
|
|
Am having trouble getting sound to work on when RDPing to the Terminal Server. The client PC has sound working.
I have done the following: On my local computer: RDP client setting for Remote Computer Sound: Bring to this Computer. On the Terminal Server: Terminal Services Configuration > Connections > RDP-Tcp (& ICA-Tcp) > Client Setting: Audio Mapping is greyed out and unchecked. GPO: Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Template, Windows Components > Terminal Services > Client/Server Data redirection: Allow audio redirection is enabled. Control Panel > Sound and Audio devices: I uncheck Mute, close the window and open it again and Mute is checked again.
I'm trying to get video sound to work. Windows sounds are missing - which is good as we don't want to use them. The only sound I get is the computer sound (the heart stopping beeps that scare the pants off everyone, you know the ones I mean).
Is there a Group Policy Setting somewhere I'm missing?

Have you checked the GPO in AD as well as on the local ( I'm assuming by local you are talking about the terminal server, not the workstation..correct?)
