Question : Problem: Push Email Technology
|
|
Hi, I have configured OMA(Exchange 2K3, SP2) to work with my mobile device(Samsung Blackjack running Windows Mobile 5). To the best of my knowledge it works on push email technology. My understanding is that everytime there is a change, for example when an email comes through, the change is pushed onto the mobile. Now something funny happened after I changed my password on my PC(and not in the account settings on the mobile device). I noticed that i get locked out in under a minute. Obviously it seems to be authenticating with the mobile and locks me out. Now if its push technology why would it lock me out? Coz as far as exchange is concerned the device does not exist(same as havin incorrect settings). If someone does know something about this, please explain.
Thanks.

Answer : Problem: Push Email Technology

Because mail is being pushed to the PDA, rather than the PDA polling/ or pulling the mail at a set interval of time
This way mail gets sent as soon as it arrives.
That does not mean that there is no authentification going on.
