Question : Problem: Help needed with creating a USB ghost image installer

Hi Experts

I need some help in setting up a USB key which can be used to install multiple .gho images for various models of PCs.  I have seen on this site and Google, references to the 'HP Drive Key Boot Utility' which should work with most keys to make bootable.  The key I'm using is a Lexar 16GB FireFly and when running through the Wizard it appears to work okay, but when testing it displays 'Boot Failed' .These are the steps I take starting from the HP wizard:

Create New or Replace Existing Configuration> Role=Hard Drive> Create New Filesystem> Floppy Image (XP boot disc used). The format completes and when viewing the drive it shows a partition of 2.90GB with a 12GB unallocated.

So not only does it not boot, I'm confused as to why it creates a partition this size and not use all the available space. I even tried Lexars own utility called 'BootIT' but that errors halfway through the process each time of running.  Any help you can give is most appreciated.

Not all PCs will boot from a USB key.

And for those that will it has to be in a specific format.  Your BIOS may have options for USB floppy, USB hard disk, USB zip drive etc.  Try all those options to see which if any will work.

Unsure why you are getting that size.  You may wish to try and delete the partition involved and try again.
