Question : Problem: Solution to RDC 6.1 console connection & Admin Pack for Server 2003
Has anyone found a solution for connecting to the console on Server 2003 machines thru the Remote Desktop Snap in in a Microsoft Management Console on an XP Pro SP 3 machine? It appears from our testing that when the Remote Desktop Snap-in calls the MSTSC application it is still passing the old /Console switch instead of the new /Admin switch. We are able to connect to the Server Console using "MSTSC /Admin" and/or rolling back our MSTSC program (5.1) to previous version that accepts the /Console switch. We have in the past & would like again to be able to use the Administration Tools Pack MMC & Remote Desktop Snap-in to connect to wither the server console or a new remote desktop session on any number of our servers.
