Question : Problem: Problem with ABit KV7-V Mobo & XP Pro BSOD

I have installed a new Abit KV7-V mobo to replace a faulty mobo. I also installed a Sempron 2400+ CPU, new RAM and new graphics card.
I am now at my wits end and not a lot more to try.
I am trying to install Windows XP Pro with integrated SP2. When I get to the Setup Copies Files, there are a few files where I get an
error, for example The file query.dll was not copied correctly. The file setup placed on your  HD is not a valid XP system image.
I am getting a similar message with a few other files. I hit enter to retry and setup continues.
I have tried a few of my backup installation disks with the same results.
These disks work perfectly on other pc's.
When the setup gets to the point where the progress bar displays in the bottom left, I get the BSOD when installing devices.
The last error I got was
The problem was caused by the following file: Ntfs.sys
An attempt was made to write to the read only memory.
I have had other BSOD messages but did not write the errors down.
I have run chkdsk /r and this made no difference.
As a trial, I removed the HDD & IDE cable and connected to another pc. I  also installed my new graphics card on the other pc, and then used the same
Windows setup disk. I was able to install Windows with no errors. I also did this to a second spare HD.
I then transferred the original HDD back to the pc and run Windows setup  again, and get same errors.
I have also changed CD Drives & IDE cables how many times, albeit these drives are quite old but stiil work fine. I removed the CD drive & IDE from the other pc that I
was able to complete setup, installed on pc with new mobo, again, same errors.
I removed the new RAM and refitted old RAM, same results.
Even tried with known good graphics card, same results.
I have more than double-checked all connections.

Just done another chkdsk /r and resumed setup. Another BSOD, this time
IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal

Changed back to the new memory, when PC starts it correctly shows the CPU as
a AMD Sempron 2400+, memory tests OK - 512 k, DDR400

Is there a problem with the new mobo, or am I missing something in the BIOS setup that would cause this.

TIA

Answer : Problem: Problem with ABit KV7-V Mobo & XP Pro BSOD

IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal ... According to Microsoft is basically a driver issue:

Stop 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The Stop 0xA message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel interrupt request level (IRQL) that was too high. A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own. This Stop message is typically due to faulty or incompatible hardware or software.
