Question : Problem: Real time clock error after changing system batery
|
|
Thbe lithium system battery died on my NEC Ready PC, so all the congifuration are messed up (time, date, etc. all set to default). After replacing a good lithium battery, I ran setup and gave it the right time and date and other info like IDE Master/Slave stuff. However, the next time I startup my PC, I got the same "Real time clock error, system battery is dead, replace and run setup" message. What can I do to fix this, did I changed the right battery?

Proct...
I have verified with my technicians here and this is their answer:
If you changed the battery clock to a known good one, and you still lose the CMOS settings, you will have to take your computer in for repair. There is a chip on the motherboard that has to be replaced. (defective.)
Can't do much more from here.. ;-(
Hope this has helped Regards
