Question : Problem: Free up Missing Hard Drive Space
|
|
I have a G5 with a 160GB hard drive that currently shows only about 14GB of free space. When I open my HD to see where all the hard drive space has gone so that I can clear it out the numbers just don't add up. Here is what it shows: Applications 10.42GB Application (Mac OS 9) 170.4MB Documents 43.2MB G4-G5 Projects 333.6MB Library 12GB System 1.89 GB System Folder 207MB Users 21.14GB
That does not add up tp 160 and I'm really not sure where to look next.
Also since I don't use MAC OS ( at all can I just delete it or do I need to uninstall it?
Thanks for the help.

If you NEVER use OS9 you can delete the Applications(Mac OS9) and System Folder .. folders You can use a great Free program called Disk Inventory X - http://www.derlien.com/ IT shows a visual map of your HD .. you can spot large files and what is using up space.
