Question : Problem: ibook G4 wireless mouse and usb problems
I'm PC person all the way. Former Computer Engr and IT Support Pro, now retired. For first time trying to help out with an Apple, and don;t know if appropriate for this forum, but here goes. Apple iBook G4, supposedly brand new, has MAC OS X 10.4 Tiger loaded and I have it up online via high speed cable. Intend going wireless soon. Problems: 1. Blue Tooth mouse is given a name and seemingly recognized when go through setup but it fails to work....can't move cursor, but seems button sometimes selects things. 2. Two USB ports fail to recognize USB mice I've tried connecting. Is there something more I need do/check in Preferences, System Preferences, etc., for both of these. Any help with these problems is greatly appreciated. Mac's aren't perfect either, or is it user (me) who's at fault! Thanks in advance. Rich

do those mice work on other workstations? If you boot with say a CD or with extensions off(hold shift), does the workstation still have problems with the usb mouse?
