Question : Problem: Strange audio problem with my MacBook
|
|
Using the standard audio jack in my MacBook I get rather mixed results, when using an external set of speakers which I plug into the same jack as the headsets would plug into I get great sound no problem, when I plug various headsets in I have no luck they sound like they are not even plugged in, no sound comes out of the speakers or the headsets! it's as if I am on MUTE!

Unfortunately the audio jacks ports on Macs can be a little fussy, it is a long standing issue whereby certain microphones and headsets will not work on Apples.
However, it is more likely that the problem is that your output settings in the System Preferences is not checked to output audio to the headphones.
Plug in your headphones ... Open the System Preferences, Sound Pane .. Look at the Output settings
