Question : Problem: Monitor working out of scan range

Hi, I am getting error message on monitor "Monitor is working out of scan range"  The screen also goes to sleep (dark) when not in use, and slowly over 5 seconds comes back when you move the mouse.

It's a Dell P990 monitor (actually Trinitron. Sony relabelled) connected to Compaq Presario 6000 desktop running Windows XP.  

Just starting doing this after a few years of no problems.
Any help is appreciated

@ramdab...I believe it was solely me in this question...

"You're Welcome"...I thinking when the monitor loses signal, it can't "reboot" itself from the power options situation. That's a sign of your capacitors in your monitor not holding a charge.  Which means its the beginning of the end of the monitor life.

If you think that we've reached a conclusion to your situation...a grading would be appreciated :-)
