Question : Problem: PowerBook G4 Battery Updater not working properly
|
|
I'm runnung a PowerBook G4 with Lep 10.5.2 and all available software updates. I replaced a battery that had nearly 400 cycles on it 2 months ago with a brand new OEM battery from my local Apple store.
iStat is saying I have 23 cycles on this new battery but here are my problems:
The machine will run for 4 seconds on battery and then die. System settings are not retained. Internal battery perhaps? Is there such a thing? Battery Updater fails repeatedly - workaround: I went to Apple/Support/Downloads and downloaded the updater for my machine. It installed and rebooted. I run the updater again and receive error "Your battery was not updated." What do I need to do to resolve this issue? BTW, I have also did the no power/no batt thing and reset the PMU. No help there either. I'm puzzled.

Primary battery had failed - 23 cycles. Apple (Mac Lenox Square, Atl, GA) replaced the battery for free. All is good.
