Question : Problem: Core 2 Extreme - Hanging when playing Call of Duty 4

Why cant the ultimate computer run new games?
My computer runs beautifull as long as i dont play.
Specs:
Intel Bad Axe 2 ATX i975X, 1066 MHz
Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 - 2,93GHZ/ 4 MB
Asus Nvidia GF8800GTX 768M PCI-E
Western Digital XL+ S-ATA II 400GB
Kingston DDR2 2048MB 533MHz Non-ECC

Today I played COD4, and the computere hang.
Looking at the CPU monitor : 100% at both.

Why?
Wrong memory, CPU???, wrong game or what..
Have reinstalled COD same problem, the computer hang in other games also.

One thing to check is Heat.
Intel systems generally will hang (rather than doing damage to themselves) if critical components (CPU) get badly over temperature.
If you are over clocking,  dial it back a little,  check all heatsinks for dust buildup & clean if any visible dust.
