Question : Problem: ideas on backing up laptop data
hey guys, i have a user who has roughly 7GB of data on their laptop in one folder. i am concerned about the data because it is not backed up at all, nor is kept on the server. the laptop is running XP Pro and the server is sbs2003. what would be the best way to protect this data? ideally i would like to keep it all on the laptop but also a backup copy in case the laptop gets stolen or something.
Answer : Problem: ideas on backing up laptop data
Why not use offline folder synchronisation within XP? Place the files on the server and allow the user to use them offline. Therefore each time they are in the office the server will be updated with any changes that they have made.
