Question : Problem: ScanWizard Pro error Code: -204, SCSI Microtek 9600 XL Scans B&W but not color
I have a Microtek 9600XL flatbed scanner. This is a tabloid size scanner that connects via SCSI. It scans B&W fine, but returns an error when attempting to scan in color. The ScanWizard Pro error is "Code: -204". According to Microtek documentation, this code is linked to a bad or failing lamp. This problem has been replicated on several Windows OS platforms and Linux. Is there a reasonable explanation why the unit can scan in B&W, but fail to scan in color?
