Question : Problem: USB Peripherals not being detected by Windows

I have Windows XP Professional running on my motherboard Gigabyte GA8KNXP Ultra Rev 1.0. Suddenly without explicit reason Windows is not detecting my USB peripherals like HP Scanjet 8200, Creative Webcab and Nokia 9500 communicator & even the USB based dlink bluetooth is not detected. Please suggest remedy because this is a major problem.

if possible - for troubleshooting - i would test it from a fresh install of XP, with both scanners.
you can create a separate partition for it, or use another disk ffor the XP setup
