Question : Problem: Ghost 2003 Does it Support NTFS for a Target Drive?

We use Ghost 2003 to create images of our Windows 2003 Servers and XP clients. The C: Drive on all machines is NTFS (20 gig). The D drive on the machine being ghosted which we store the backups is FAT32. We typicaly use the Ghost 2003 Basic console from Windows  to create and restore the  images.

Questions:
1. Can the D Drive that the image writes to be NTFS?  We were told at one time that it must be FAT32 for Ghost to see the drive.

2. Any hints to reduce the size of the image? We mark them for high compresions but they are still quite large.

3. Ocassionally a PC becomes corrupted and we use a boot CD or floppy to recover. If we use NTFS to store theGhost  images will this procedure still work?

Thank you.

Test it.

I think that 2003 should support NTFS.

Also check the built in Help to see.

I know that from Ghost version 8 and up NTFS is supported

ALso clean up C before ghosting removing all the junk that accumulates.
