Question : Problem: I'm using Vista. how do I get acronis clone onto new HD?

Acronis stored my Old hard drive clone (Vista) on firewired WD My book external drive. how do I get this clone onto my new HD? the HP slimline PC has only 1 sata port so I couldn't clone between internal sata drives. it seems vista will not allow me to make the external drive bootable.  Acronis Active Restore does not support images of Windows Vista. Acronis Startup Recovery Manager seems to run from a disk that has already booted.  so i'm confused. What other options do I have? Thanks.  Olivia

It is not Vista to allow to boot from external, it is system if it does not have that option in bios. Check in bios page, boot section, see if you can set system to boot from external?

Also, when you created image using True Image Home, did you also create boot disc? which later you can start up system with it and map the image and then restore to? Below is procedure:
