Yep - you could restore one email without restoring the complete DB. But you also had to back up your data twice. Once as the IS backup, then as the mailboxes - wasting tape space and reducing the life of your tape drive. And the mailbox backup was sloooooow. And prone to loads of errors.
And how many times do you need to restore emails from tape if you have Deleted Items Retention set up in Exchange?
But if you still want to use the old method, go into Tools/Options/Microsoft Exchange. Tick "Enable legacy mailbox support". Then go into your existing job and edit the selection list. Check the new "Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes" selection. And I suggest you disable the GRT option in the Microsoft Exchange section of the job definition.
