Question : Problem: Home folders not mapping for everyone on Windows 2003 terminal server
We have users who don't map there home folder automatically when they logon to our terminal servers while others map every time. We've done the following troubleshooting:
1. Some associate can logon to a server via RDP and the home folder does not map automatically. They can access the folder by UNC or a shortcut and it will map if they map it locally.
2. If they RDP into the server using the mstsc /console command it will map for them. I assume the same thing would work if they actually went to the physical console or iLo.
3. It maps when they logon to there PC everyday
4. Some associates will map successfully everytime they logon no matter whether its the console or not.
5. This holds true no matter which server they logon to. Either you autoamatically map on every server or you do.
6. The home folders are configured under each users account under the profile tab
A few months ago we elevated our domain to a Windows 2003 Native. Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not.
