Question : Problem: Stuck Keyboard
|
|
I use MS DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1. For some reason when I boot up I am getting a "Stuck Keyboard" message. This has happened when I do a cold or warm boot. This just started happening out of the blue. It stops after I push any key.

Use alchol (not the one for drinking, but the one, forgot the name, that used specialy for cleaning, or colone to clean it ( it will take a few days for you keyboard to lose the smell). Those are liquids that will dissapate wery fast and they clean perfect.
For the last 5 years, I am cleaning my keboard twice a year like the floowing (did not broke down, yet):
1. I unscreew it. 2. I use alcohol to clean plastic parts cloth, like skipt said. 3. I take of all keyboard keys. Use some strenght, but not to much and pull up. For the space, enter, shifts, gray plus, all the key will have suppornig peace of mettal, that can be easiely removed using small flat screewdriver. 4. I clean the buttons them selves. 5. I used a small paint brush soaked in alcohol (but not drippling from the brush) to clean electric circuts. As is said before alcohol disapates into the air very fast, so usualy but the time I done. Keyboard is dry. 6. Assemble keyboard backwards (it will look great, and very shiny), don't worry about if you put soem keys in wrong order you can very easiely remove onced that are in the wrong place.
And secondary check the connection of keyboard to computer. Unplug it check that connector is clean. And plug it in back.
By the way, befire you clean keyboard don't forget to unplug it from the computer.
Sincerely, VMPN
