Question : Problem: Mac Mini won't boot and CD-ROM makes non stop ejecting sounds.

I have a Mac mini that when powered on it sounds like it keeps ejecting the CD but there is not one in there and it won't boot or chime.  If I put a CD in the sound goes away but it immediatly shoots out the CD and continues with the noise.  I have tried taking the CD-ROM out and trying to boot but it will not.  Has anyone run into this before?  I don't know if a mini will boot without an optical drive or not.

The interconnect board also did not fix the problem.  So the next step is to replace the logic board and that did the trick.  It booted fine, but in the process of replacing the parts the connector on the speaker broke off so a heads up to anyone replacing these parts that the connectors are a little brittle.  Thanks for the help guys!
