Question : Problem: Pc freezing

I have a HP with xp media center on it and after its been on for awhile it will freeze up. I will will power it down and then when i reboot it the fans are maxed out and it will not load anything. I wait for a few hours and it will boot normal..........TH

it sounds like it detects some kind of heat buildup and thus it freezes or maxes out the fans. try opening the pc up and blowing it out with a can of air. a few words of caution though: make sure your grounded, and have removed the power cord before blowing it out. also make sure it's in a well ventilated room. the dust can get a little overwhelming sometimes. and if you use a air compressor make sure the psi is BELOW 30. anything above it might cause damage.

p.s even though i said clean it out. if for some reason by god's will you damage your pc, we (EE) are not liable for the damage. just fyi, in case something does happen.
