To make a ringtone out of a song, it must first be purchased from iTunes, you must then pay an additional $0.99 to finalize the ringtone.
If you are still having problems:

- In the upper righthand corner of store, click on your email address (looks like a button)
- Type your email address and password
- Login
- Your credentials are now renewed
- At this point, it will take you into your account homepage
- While here, click on purchases history, which will inform you of billing issues
- Reauthorize your computer:
- Find the song you want to turn into a ringtone in your library
- Double click to play song
- If there is an authorization problem, you will be alerted at this point
- You will need to login to reauthorize
- You can also reauthorize under the Store Menu at top of iTunes
- If reauthorization fails:
- First, Deauthorize under Store Menu at top
- Then, Authorize under Store Menu at top
- Check owner of song:
- Right click song to be made into ringtone
- Click Get Info
- At the bottom the owner will be listed
- If you are not the owner, you do not have access to the song and cannot create a ringtone with it.
If all else fails, contact iTunes support to address possible issues with your account.
Hope this helps!
