Question : Problem: Constant BSOD w/dell Inspirion 9100

I recently purchased the above laptop on, "eBay" (no warranty). I love it however, ( it came with XP and product key) it has not worked properly since I bought it. I have been receiving constant BSOD's along with complete shutdowns (just turned off), So, I decided to reinstall the O.S. About 45% thru the installation, I would get the BSOD (Irq Not Equal). I have purchased a new HDD and new Ram and still get the BSOD. I've been to dell's website and downloaded all the updated drivers, etc. I finally was able to get XP put on the system but now it won't install SP2. I am very much considering that the Video Card might need replaced.  Any suggestions.

Answer : Problem: Constant BSOD w/dell Inspirion 9100

Sorry, I did not check all of the links from Dell website regarding the video card (as second and third links below).

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9100/sm/upgrades.htm#999869
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9100/sm/system.htm#999507
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9100/sm/video.htm#1006368

At this point, you suggest you to create a slipstream XP with SP2 and install on your system. Also, go these website below and download some software to test your system first, and before starting to think buy other video card, the link #3 is to test video card:

Try that, please post back.
