Question : Problem: Computer Reboots on shutdown when serial device plugged into COM port
Hi,
We have an issue with a computer that will not shutdown when a device is plugged into the COM port. The computer will reboot after it is shutdown.

Check your BIOS and look for settings like "Wake on...." or similar. Disable any such settings. It is possible that activity on the serial device will trigger such a wakeup signal.
