Question : Problem: Home router not havign enough power?
|
|
I run a web server that constantly has about 5-10 people on it and I ahve a DLink 614+ wireless router. Well I ahve been using the web server from my office at another location with a different internet connectio nand I keep getting connection refused off and on about 25% of the requests I make the the web server. I tis runnign on a Dual P3 1GHz wiht 1.25 gig of ram on linux mandrake. Anyway ia m wondering if it is possible my router is the cause of the problem of 25% not connecting to web server. If so then i will aquire a new one and what one should I get don't want to spend a lot of coarse but enough to handle a decent ammoutn of traffic.
Thanks,
Dustan

That would be my guess. Those routers are built for typical home usage, which doesn't include 5-10 inbound users. It probably can't handle another inbound connection at that moment.
