Question : Problem: Can't get IP address for Adhoc Wireless network in Vista
A friend has a PC running Windows Vista Home Premium - the internet connection is via a 3G USB modem which works fine.
Her family are coming to stay for vacation so she wanted them to be able to use their laptops wirelessly.
So I bought a USB wireless adaptor , installed it , and created an Adhoc network, turning on Internet connection sharing.
So far so good - it works fine.. my laptop works thru the 3G connection - BUT whenever the PC is re-booted, although the Adhoc network is still 'visible' on the laptop it will never connect - it never gets to 'acquiring network address'.
If I delete the adhoc network and create a new one all is fine again - until re-boot.
Help please!
(My laptop is running XP Pro)

It would appear this behaviour is a 'feature' of Vista...
