Question : Problem: print gibberish letters

We are randomly having problems with our cheque printing by using Formscape.  We key in all the information, hit print and it may come up with gibberish letters in place of the actual cheque information. This doesnt happen all the time, but it seems to be more recent. Our printer: HP Laser 4200 PCL 5e

Such corruptions could be due to a driver fault, especially if they are repeatable when printing the same document to the same device.

But random occurrences are more likely to be caused by corruption of the print stream between the workstation and the printer.

You can check cables, connectors, NICs, ports, switches, etc., but it is not easy to determine the cause of random corruptions, other than by replacing components (e.g. cable) one at a time.

It is also possible that a printer fault is the cause, but this is rather less likely than other components being at fault.
