Question : Problem: HP Deskjet 960c moaning
|

Since few days the HP Deskjet 960c started to moan while printing. It is very difficult to find the cause because as soon as one opens the lid the printer stops printing and the moaning stops as well. Any help welcome, Daniel Bessis

Answer : Problem: HP Deskjet 960c moaning

After contacting HP tech support, they came with the following solution that solved my problem. The HP Deskjet 960C printer is making a grinding noise when printing. This may be due to the printer being in an "invalid state". Follow the steps given below to reset the printer cycle (Hard reset):
1. Raise the top cover of the printer. 2. Remove ink cartridges from printer. CAUTION: Before proceeding, ensure that the cartridge latches are placed in the 'lock' (down) position.
3. Power off the printer by pressing the power button. 4. Disconnect the power cord and the printer cable (USB or parallel) from the back of the printer. 5. Let printer remain disconnected for at least 30 seconds. 6. Reconnect the power and printer cables. 7. Reinstall the ink cartridges into printer and make sure they lock into position. 8. Close the top cover and then power on the printer.
Thank you to all of you, dbessis
