Question : Problem: Best Compatible Inkjet Cartridges
|
|
I know this is a wide topic and will be filled with many 'theories' on which is the best compatibles but I am looking for people who have had experience, done tests or can point me to some good test sites. BAsically, every thime I have used compatible cartridges, the ink heads have got clogged very quickly so if I haven't printed for a few dyas I usually have to go through a number of cleaning cycles. I have tried inks form a range of different brands bt I have yet to find a good brand. The printers I own at the minute are the Brother MFC4280c and the Canon Pixma IP4000. The print quality of the latter is outstanding and am still using my original cartridges. The question is, do I fork out the originals or are there any well tested compatible brands that will give me the same quality and not clog the heads.

Spend the money on the originals.
I've done a lot of research on these cartidges. It seems they often do more harm than they are worth. They tend to be leaky, and frequently offer a far lower output than manufacturer cartidges. They can (however rarely) damage print heads on machines that keep print heads separate from the cartridges themselves.
The problem is that retail stores have an enourmous markup on manufacturer cartidges, compensating for small margin on the machines themselves. Try to get your cartidges in multipacks to save a few dollars.
As for the brother, I wasn't able to pull up that model number. If it's a laser or ribbon machine, I might be more willing to give reman cartidges a try.
Hope I've been of assistance. Matt
